Optimise financial savings from a complex CHP Plant

Web based CHP management system

Clarke Energy is a multinational specialist in distributed power generation solutions.

In the UK they are a leading supplier of power generation equipment to a number of sectors including natural gas-fuelled combined heat and power (CHP) facilities - to enable fuel, carbon and cost savings for hospitals, universities, commercial buildings and greenhouses.

Under their O&M contract, Clarke Energy needed to provide a cost effective plant management system for Cardiff General Hospital Trust to see their hourly financial savings on the web.

Dexdyne was asked to provide a web based system which will, based on the bulk purchase price of the gas and electricity from the grid, calculate in real time required Electrical output to optimise the savings accrued due to utilising waste heat for steam, hot water and heating.  This was a monitoring and control application with numerous constraints on the system.
